How to Make Chinese Suzhou Embroidery - Connecting Stitch

There are 18 different stitches in Suzhou embroidery. Below is the introduction of the tenth stitch, connecting stitch,

18 - 10 Connecting Stitch

Connecting stitch is used to connect two stitches. The work is started by making the first stitch at on end of the design, followed by short stitches of equal length (about 3-6mm). Each stitch is connected with the prior one (fig. a). The subsequent stitch should be inserted into the middle of the previous stitch so that all the stitches are linked in one straight line (fig. b)
